Southern Puglia – Seaching for town to stay

We are looking at possible towns to stay in Puglia – south of Lecce. We are going to be moving to Italy in 2020 and wanted to begin our search for an appropriate place to live.

We would eventually purchase a property but will rent until we find a place we like. Nothing overly touristy or crowded with close access to a train station. Something with historical significance and nice architecture would be great.
