An Expat Talks about Living in Puerto Rico, Ecuador
What is the name of the city or town that you are reporting on?
Puerto Rico
In terms of religious, racial, economic and cultural diversity, are the people of this city or town diverse? Are they accepting of differences? Describe.
Puerto Rico is a small town and does not have the same level of diversity as larger cities or countries. However, Ecuador as a whole is a diverse country with a mix of indigenous, mestizo, Afro-Ecuadorian, and white populations. The country is known for its rich cultural heritage and traditions that reflect this diversity. As for acceptance of differences, it can vary. Generally, Ecuadorians are known for their hospitality and warmth towards visitors and newcomers. However, like any place, there can be instances of prejudice or discrimination. It's important to note that attitudes can differ from person to person and from region to region. In recent years, there has been a growing awareness and acceptance of diversity in Ecuador, but there is still progress to be made.
