Considering a move...

Hi there,

This is just a query at this time as I am still in the early stages of a possible relocation and just wanted some feedback from people in the know.

I work in tourism and have worked all over the world inc Egypt, The Gambia and Morocco. I am excited to move somewhere so new and expect a new experience. Two questions:
1) If I work in the hotel industry on a mid level salary I would have relocation and accom covered but how far can I expect my wages to go? I am from London so I know how expensive life can be but I have frugal tastes. I mean the basics ie a simple meal in a decent restaurant or the price of a beer.

2) This one is much tougher! My partner if he comes to visit is a wheelchair user. How accessible is it? I know many areas won't be and hotels would cater for him but if we were looking for a rental for example for a couple of weeks would one be easy to find. In tourist areas what can be expected???

One of the reasons for my move is that I cannot get a visa for the US but want to be closer to him and it's about as near as I can get!!!
I don't know how often I would be able to get to the States but it would help to know what his chances are of spending some time with me somewhere like the Bahamas.

I would very much appreciate an honest opinion.

Many thanks!
