We are ready to LIVE...

Hello,

My husband and I are in our early 50s and we are ready to really start enjoying what the world has to offer. We are both scuba divers, but he is an instructor, a dive master, an equipment tech, and basically everything else the world of scuba offers by way of training and certification. The only thing he cannot do (yet) is certify others to inspect tanks. Give me a few months and he will have that training, too.

We are looking to leave Atlanta, Georgia, USA in the next year and settle somewhere in the Caribbean. It will depend on where he can get a job. I hope to be working remotely, but we will see how that pans out. Our initial thoughts are Bonaire, but we have no real focused direction yet. We are also not set on staying in one place unless we arrive and fall in love. Our idea right now is to head somewhere as long as his work commitment lasts, and then assess our situation.

We are hoping for something small, perhaps somewhere a scooter or golf cart will do for transportation. I would also like shore diving. I am fluent in French, Eric speaks Spanish.

Can anyone point us in a direction, or give us tips, that we have not considered yet? I moved to Europe by myself when I was in my early teen years, so this is not completely new to me. It will be a leap of faith for my hubby, though.

Thank you!
