Can an American get a Brazilian citizenship and still remain a US citizen?

YES you can become a citizen of Brasil - or most any other country and keep your US citizenship.
You can also get an RNE - permanent residence card and stay forever too. Usually based on marrying a Brasilian or starting a business.
Any particular reason you choose Brasil ? Maybe Portugal, Costa Rica, Panama, Canada would be better options. At least they have a real economy and real jobs.
Unlike Brasil who has a dictatorship, an economy is the trash - for the forseeable future, NO jobs. IT IS cheap but there is a reason for that.
Yes I am a real person, I think.

I am In Imperatriz now this is small town next to a river. There are not many foreign here and that is good. The people here are friendly and I haven’t seen much crime. It’s not wealthy more motorcycles than cars. When people see me they know I am not Brazilian but not sure where I am from haha. I been coming here for over Two years. Plan of living here not sure how the school are but met student getting law degrees. The weather is hot all the time or rain and it’s at least 8 hour from any beach. San Luis is beach city nice also would check that city out also major airport many flights. Sorry to here thing getting so bad in the South.
