Harsh opinion vs. troll

Sometimes a post is harsh, attacking the thread or attacking one or more of the other posters. Usually it is a one-off deal. We´ve all probably done it a time or two, myself included and for which I apologize sincerely.
Our harsh post is often offset by our other posts that are informative, helpful, polite, rational, reasonable and that speak from our experience and thought processes that are worth reading.

A troll on the other hand is just sick. He is out to have sick fun by harassing his target. The internet forum is his playground.

You can tell the difference between a harsh post and a troll because the harsh post is a one-off whereas the troll will stalk across multiple threads to continue harassing his target.

The only way to respond to a troll, is don´t.

Don´t lose your temper like I did and fight back. It just thrills the dickens out of the sick minded troll who now has an opponent against whom he can unleash his self-inflated ego.

Just ignore the troll and eventually he will move on to greener pastures elsewhere.
