Caution with Clave Dinámica

Friendly Public Service Announcement to my fellow expats living in Colombia.

I suspect that someone or a group of people are trying to steal money from my account.

Be very careful with this clave dinámica. I think it is the same as this.

I have strange calls and messages that say call to change my pin number and the 800 number does not match with the typical one of the bank. Even one call that was obviously muted at the start with a long pause before a obvious muffled recording of the bank recording.

The bank told me alot of this has been happening lately.

I have no idea how this scam works or how they could do this without an inside person either in the banking corporate level or within the PSE company.

Exercise extreme caution and if you suspect the slightest thing go directly to the bank and change your card(s) and pin(s).
