My 3rd long road trip, salento, inza then to ecuador

Some random thoughts as I sit here in the community area of my Hotel Pisimbala in Inza a few doors up from the Parque Arqueológico Nacional de Tierradentro, which I wanted to see for some time now.

I left Medellin about 10AM yesterday, the drive south down to Pereira was uneventful and the gods of start/stop construction road traffic down must have been with me as I only had to come to a complete stop twice and only for about 15 minutes each stop.

Took about 280 KM and 7 hours to travel to Salento BUT no one told me that a major festival was going on, thousand of people converging on Salento, no hotel rooms, urrrr but the free concert was great last night, Yieson Jimandez (sp?) really rocked the crowd with the Pop music.

Wanted to see the big palm trees but spending hours in traffic just to get through town was enough for me so another time for that.

Finally got a cheesy hotel room at 2 AM way south of Armenia right before the Route 25, 20 mil so I cant complain, jajajajaja

Awoke this morning at 7 AM and drove down Route 25 past Cali to Popayan and by the grace of god made it through the mountain passes to Inza, drove 8 hours today and just as I got to Parque Arqueológico Nacional de Tierradentro BAMM it just closed, so here I sit waiting for morning to visit the sites.

I plan on heading to San Agustin tomorrow afternoon then in the coming days to Quito Ecuador.

My KIA Picanto is a trouper on these dirt pot-holed back roads.
