I've only got a few hours before I leave for the airport and realized my suitcases are just over the 50 lb. limit. I am only staying a few days but I figure this is a good time to drop off some stuff.

I'm trying to decide what not to bring in order to meet the weight requirements - bear in mind that I will not have a place to store anything in the US after my more permanent move next month. Can someone confirm that electronics are expensive in Colombia? It would be an easy decision if that wasn't true.

While I'm sort of on the subject, I plan to bring my iMac when I permanently move. The airlines (United and Avianca) told me I could purchase an extra seat for my computer. It is not much more expensive than transporting it by other means and a heckuvalot safer. However, I don't want to run into issues when I get to the airport. The dimensions are 31"x24"x11" boxed and about 30 pounds,. Does anyone have any knowledge about this?
