New resident visa R: Really Indefinite?

Thank you everyone who has contributed to my last post regarding the best time to apply for a resident visa.

I have now decided to let a professional visa service agency handle my upcoming application for the new resident visa called " R " which I ( hopefully ) will receive in June after having held a TP 10 visa for 3 years.

My question today concerns the length of validity of these resident visas. The Colombian canceleria website claims them to be valid indefinitely, but the visa agency I am about to hire has told me that the new R visas they have so far obtained for their clients have all been limited to 5 years. And that they believe that after those 5 years are over one needs to apply for the same R visa again, pay the same fee once more and fulfill the same requirements as when one applied for said R visa for the first time. In my case that would mean that I would still need to be married just as I am now and if I was to be divorced before that point in time I would then not qualify for a " second " resident visa.
Does anyone here know what the real deal with this resident visa is? Is is valid indefinitely or limited to just 5 years? If limited to 5 years is it true that one still has to fulfill all the requirements for obtaining it the first time around?
Searching the internet I have been unable to clarify this question, probably because this visa category is relatively new and no one has had to renew theirs yet.
