What do you do?

On another thread JustLarry asked about what does one do with all the free time?

In my case I study Spanish and business start ups. Recently I started an online business that is doing well enough to be worth doing. I spend about 4 hours day on that now.

The rest of my time I shop for food, cook, clean, keep house, medical and dental appointments, haircuts, go for long walks in the neighborhoods and even sometimes take a taxi to the edge of town and walk long distances into the countryside. I do a little yoga each day, enough to keep my body stretched and good posture.

Before I met my girlfriend I spent a good bit of time on Colombian Cupid and Latin American Cupid meeting women to date. That was very interesting time in my life, lots of pretty women to meet in Colombia.

Now my girlfriend and I walk together and keep house together. We watch movies and TV shows on Netflix.

We read a lot. I subscribe to Amazon Kindle Unlimited and we each read about 10 books each month.

I take online courses through Udemy. I've studied a wide range of topics over the years. Lately I studied writing and blogging, thinking I would start up a blog like every other expat does, but that field is pretty crowded now.

I'm looking for an online photography course. I want to get better photos of the things i see here in Colombia every day. Things that are humdrum but nonetheless interesting. Just yesterday I got a nice photo of an old Colombian on a little motorcycle that is set up with sharpening wheels and a key machine on the back.

His job is to go house to house sharpening kitchen knives and scissors and making spare keys. He runs an extension cord from the house to power the grinding wheels.

Another old gentleman passes through my barrio from time to time mending shoes. He carries his tools in a little roller cart like they sell at the supermarkets for food shopping. Scenes like that are just never seen where I lived in the USA. I think they are interesting and would like to share good photos of my Facebook page.

I spend at least an hour each day on this forum and on Facebook groups staying in touch with my friends and family in the USA. Mostly I chat with other expats about life in Colombia. Chatting online with other expats is entertaining and its where I learn how to do things and how to find things here in Colombia.

What do you do to pass the time?
