Update on child absconded

I thought I might share again on the process so that it might help others. Since my child was absconded by the biological mother and all agencies that were of little help because they did not have an actual address to locate the mother.
1. Get an attorney
2. File a denuncia
3. Bring pictures, witnesses and what not.
4. Do not expect a court. Mine was an office.
5. Make sure they write everything down on the court result e.g. who is responsible for what, time frame, sanctions etc....Enforcement is another animal. I was told that I am anxious because I am a new father? Like I said; the arrow swung to the mother since the get go.
6. Go directly to their boss or find out who to appeal to if things go awry. I did this as I found out that the Commissaro did not want to write about the absconding of my child and other details.
7. Write down what they should be looking for on their home visit. Please remember that their quality of life is different than in the US. Get that review.
8. Any new schools will ask for a document that states that the child was at a certain level and there are no issues going to a new school. Vital to have this as new schools are leery of accepting children without these prior evaluations.
9. Poverty and lack of education is not relevant to remove a child.
10. This court case will last about an hour or so.
These are just some simple things that happened. No, the absconding of my son was not even discussed after it was put on the table. So, it makes me think that the comisario de familia is not prepared to deal with such issues besides, stipends for food and education as well as set visits. And yes, I did contact bienestar who informed me that the Comish has authority in this sector? Be careful here in Colombia. My son is back (smiling) and I am charging forward on his American citizenship. how long will he stay? God only knows. Apparently laws are present but not enforced here. P/M me if you want details.
