Leaving at MDE now

I just had another glorious 7 days in the city and country I love so much. I have a few tears in my eyes as I leave this time, as every trip can have downs, but not this one. but strangely I feel I am leaving home. The new Tunel is amazing as only 31 minutes from my Sur America Airbnb, with clear skies and a beautiful view. I got to surprise my girlfriend for her 45 birthday and so much fun when I got her Que Haces on whasapp. . I said in Spanish I am just getting settled into my apartment and would you like to have dinner tonight? The screams and tears were amazing and in no time flat, she was on her motor and here and hardly would let go the whole time we were together with affection when she was not working her 530 to 330 shift as a teacher.. I was lucky with no rain, or pollution and managed to visit, walk and see so many wonderful sites and friendly people always eager to help and everyone saying con gusto. Forgive my writing, as a inner city school kid from a urban area, and never quite know when it’s best to start a new paragraph. I have put off Comuna 13 but went there this time and it was and amazing experience. I started to come here in 2012 and loved it since, and I think the thought of this beginning a major Tech hub will eventually happen, with many excellent Universities and a climate and culture that is drawing Westerners and their company’s quickly wth the lifestyle their workers want at more affordable wages for the corporations. This is a natural for European and North American companies as 20s-40s will flock to live and work here. The rebuild in Venezuela will flow to some Colombian and Brazilian companies. I just hope Colombians win, and not just gringos driving up prices and making some more poor (gentrification). It was also my best friends wife's birthday back in the states, and he spent $ 700 on his wife’s birthday night at the best restaurant in town, but unfortunately they fought and had a lousy night. I spent $80,000 COP on my girlfriends special dinner and did get a hotel for 120,000 COP and she was thrilled and could not have had a better night. I suppose this tread has nothing important to say, but it reminds me that the greatest danger is not wanting to leave this land of beauty, culture, politeness, and becoming a better oiled machine in service. I even returned a toilet seat at Homecenter and a piece of cake. One last thing is I want to thank someone on this forum for great advice on being patient and letting things play out on a cross cultural challenge in a relationship before pulling the trigger to quickly. I took Avianca from Miami and sure hope they stick around as service was first class, and they and Viva Air are helping us hold the line on USA carriers screwing us. I just wanted to get my 2 COP in before it drops anymore in value. Booing on plane now, so Buena suerte !!
