EPS...THE TRUTH

EPS information and Cafetero

Cafetero is a convincing writer. And he writes about something that is critical to most of us as we get older....health care and health care alternatives in Colombia. I see by comments that people make that he is read by many and consequently they are being led down a trail of false narrative. This is sad because, in my opinion, the insurance programs offered to senior expats in Colombia are the BEST in the world. I can make an argument that the insurance alone is reason enough to have residency in Colombia (here I am)

The wonder of the system is that the providers are private companies. The wonder of the system is that all of us expats can get in on it, and without a physical. For example, there is Sanitas EPS. Keep in mind that when you see COLsanitas.....the word COL....in any insurance, you are now talking about something different than EPS. Col----signifies traditional private coverage as we in the U.S. know it.....Col type insurance is NOT what these discussions are about. At anyplace in the world, about anything, people will respond telling you stories of the success or failure of the health care system. Take those stories as you care to......me....I love my experience with EPS Sanitas...except in Santa Marta....Just one man's experience.

If you are sick in the U.S., whatever insurance you have, and you need someone to be in your home to look after you, it costs a fortune. No, double fortune. Here in Colombia you can have home care, professional or not, for a song. To some of us, not all, this is a VERY important option. Some of us don't have any place to BE sick in the world save Colombia. It is not a bad package really.

(I personally won't live in Medellin because Sanitas Premium EPS is not available there....call that my craziness)

As I have stated earlier, my regular Sanitas doctor in Bogota says that EPS Sanitas Premium is just as good as Colsanitas. And remember....Colsanitas can refuse to cover a condition at any time if they feel it is caused by your previously diagnosed belly condition....meaning you are a few pounds over weight. Yes....check it out. EPS doesn't turn there back on you because you are too heavy. (and what is TOO every?)

So, take advantage of what can be a huge financial asset. EPS....especially Sanitas Premium
