“Two thumbs up” for sending money to Daviplata.

The recipient gave a “thumbs up” because she could take money out of a Davivienda ATM without a card.

I gave a “thumbs up” because the World Remit fee to send money to Daviplata is only 99 cents.

The other day World Remit sent me a message promoting their new service which sends money to the Colombian virtual wallet called Daviplata. Since the fee was only 99 cents I sought a volunteer to receive the money. The volunteer installed Daviplata on her cellular and I sent the money to her phone without incident. Even though they say it could take a day, it arrived in 15 minutes. I knew she could pay bills with this money but she also discovered that she can withdraw cash from a Davivienda ATM without a card. One just enters a six digit code. Since it was her first time to use a ATM, she made a mistake at first. She first tried “Withdraw cash without a card” which did not work. Below that option was another option “Withdraw cash with” then a small Daviplata icon. Once she tried the 2nd option she withdrew the cash without charge.

World remit with Daviplata is now my number two preferred method to bring money into Colombia. Koho & Stack cards remain number 1.
