US Demonstrations

I try to stay out of political-related discussions on the Internet They generally turn nasty quickly. Hopefully, that won't happen here.,

The situation in the US is, in my opinion, extremely dire and as big a threat perhaps as much as covid. It finally sunk in yesterday how bad things are with the Trump stunt of forcefully clearing a peaceful demonstration so he could take a photo op. Even the bishop of the church that was the target of the photo op, condemned him.

It’s become obvious, at least to me, that Trump doesn’t care at all what most people think of him. He is in this for power and money. The stock market is up and he and his supporters are happy. Demonstrations be damned. And he’s handling it brilliantly, disgustingly so. Most of his colleagues, Mitch McConnell and gang, don’t say anything either for fear of Trump or so they can also line their pockets. Trump is never going to go away peacefully. At this point, I don’t believe he stands a chance of getting re-elected. That’s what all the baloney is about when he states mail-in ballots are fraught with fraud. That will be one of the reasons he gives for trying to void the election.

Personally, I think the Democrats suck just as much as the Republicans. Where are they? This election is truly a choice of the lesser of 2 evils or getting Trump out of office.

Anyway, that’s my 2 cents. I know many here disagree, though I don't get it. If this topic continues, hopefully it will remain respectful. I am eager to hear contrary rational viewpoints.
