A look into the future anyone?

Hi folks! Longtime lurker/second time poster here with some thoughts about our reactions to the current situation. My apologies if I rattle some cages.

Oh sure, the covid thing is real and people are dying from this "vicious killer" virus. Oddly enough, here in the USA, we apparently have approx. one quarter of the worldwide deaths with only 4 percent of the total population. Hmmm.... Coincidentally, we have November elections just around the corner. So I won't be surprised if, after the election and a (god forbid) democratic victory(s), a corona vaccine is suddenly and miraculously discovered . Or better yet, the attention of the media on "life ending" virus numbers, gradually begins to re focus onto some other sensational threat, Iran, North Korea, Russia or any of the other usual distractions that are guaranteed to get the public completely wound up in fear.

And take a look into the future, say,, 6 months to a year from now and ask yourself some questions about what you see.. Take a look at how the (Colombian, USA, Europe) economy is doing, are people working?, How many businesses have shut down? what is the level of crime and social disruption occurring?. Do you safe feel safe walking around your city? How much of that will be the direct result of our responses today.
In the US we will have an AOC as a high ranking cabinet member and an (as yet un named) totally unqualified vice president. This future official, having been chosen based on race and gender, is poised to take over leadership of our country, just as the president slowly is portrayed -by the same media?- to be mentally unfit for office. Just my opinion but, a total nightmare...Oh, but wait! Some of this has already begun!

These will be some of the likely consequences coming out of whats happening today, incremental decisions being made based on the natural fear of dying. Dying from an illness that has been extremely over hyped and monumentally mis represented.

You want to be scared over something? Fasten your seatbelts amigo/as.
