Expat friendly brokerage

First post as a soon to be U.S. expat retiree ( I hold dual citizenship in US AND COLOMBIA) The plan is to test the waters as a non Colombian resident for my first year, then hopefully pull the trigger and committing to full Colombian tax resident. I have a bit of a leg up as I have family in Colombia.

I was hoping to take advantage of the wealth of knowledge on the forum and get some anecdotal advise here as I continue due diligence on my end, specifically regarding U.S. brokerage options and what your experience has been.

From the limited research I’ve done so far, it has come to my attention that more and more brokerage firms are halting accounts for expats given the headaches associated with FACTA. It seems the current work arounds seem to point to maintaining a U.S. address and using a VPN when accessing brokerage accounts. While this may work logistically, it seems risky to constantly be hiding one’s tracks.

Which brings me to my question to ask what US brokerage firms seem to be expat friendly relative to Colombia. Ideally, would like a one stop shop to park my IRAs as well as non retirement ETF trading. Would love to hear any anecdotal recommendations as my forum searches have come up with slightly outdated results.
