married in US & here?

Hello, I have 3 questions on items that are unclear to me that I'm hoping you will answer so I don"t have to go to an attorney in Colombia:
1. I am already married in the US - I am currently legally separated for the last 3 years. Does the 2 yr. civil union law still applies to me?
2. We have lived together here in Colombia 2 mo, then we "both" went to the US for 10 months, now back together 6 mo. here again. Does all this time STILL counts towards the 2 yr. CU law time period, or when we leave Colombia for more than ? months- it ends, and restarts again? This CU law is not recognized in the US. Hence, why would it continue outside of Col.?
3. The 50% property claim starts at the "beginning of the relationship than is captured at the 2 year mark, or it starts AFTER the 2 year mark, i.e. if I purchase real estate BEFORE the 2 yr. mark, does my partner have rights to my RE property... or NOT?
