Marrying a Colombian woman

I met a wonderful Colombian woman and we have discussed getting married. Actually she said yes. I am American of Puerto Rican descent so we communicate fairly well. We want to be together but the details on moving forward are a bit cloudy. I would love to bring her to the states since I am to be retired in a couple of years. We have talked about me going to colombia for the civil marriage. Aside from the paperwork that I need, is there anything else I should prepare for? I thought the best source would be expats living there. Is it as simple as marrying her there, then bringing her here later? How does she go through the process? What can she expect? I’ve read she won’t be scrutinized as much as a tourist or a visa girlfriend since she will already be married to me. Are there any obstacles we should expect? She is getting a lot of flack form people that are jealous telling her it’s not really that simple. But what they don’t know is that I have already proposed and she said yes....!
