I enjoyed a great trip there 6 weeks ago in Medellin, but the vibe has been trending down the last 4 years or so and worst this time. I cannot believe the changes over the last 10 years as attitudes and economy was rolling until about 2017 or so. The mature Colombian women i took to dinner, Parque Arvi and other places were even more nervous then the past about dating a gringo. I'll put my retirement papers in soon and will see if I end up in the coffee region as a landing spot. I cannot see that Medellin is salvageable any longer and will miss the Metro and both airports. The USA is certainly more dangerous in most areas and I had to leave Norfolk for Virginia Beach until I relocate overseas. I still feel very safe walking in SE Asia, but just too far, but not so much Medellin. For those in Pereria, Manizales and Armenia has the vibe change noticebly for the worst? I have only enjoyed short visits to those cities so likely do a AirBNB with a month in each one. Thank you and hello to all.
