Can a psychotherapist practice in Columbia

Hello! Thanks for considering to answer my question!
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the state of California. I am looking to see if anyone here knows if as a therapist I can still see my clients virtually while living in Columbia. What I want to know, is this allowed by Columbian regulations? Or what do I need to do to make it legal to do in Columbia? I would not be seeing Columbian residents but US/CA residents.

IF by some chance you know as well if an LMFT in CA can live out of the country and still see CA clients, that would ALSO be very helpful to know. But that's a bit more specific to CA- but hey thought I would ask!

I'm surprised to hear about your California doctor practicing medicine from here. He must be practicing solely in California.
When my wife Zoomed in for an appointment with her Emory doctor in Atlanta, he wouldn't speak with her because he couldn't even practice via Zoom outside of Georgia.

Can't imagine Colombian authorities caring one way or another about doing online work while in Colombia- and like most countries regulations haven't caught up with digital nomads.

If you are tax resident in Colombia, then it is worth considering how you are paid in the USA and impact of social security taxes. And to get refund of social security taxes the payer/employer needs to first refuse to give credit for, then one can claim refund from US government. The other issue is if one is receiving early social security- technically there are issues if one is overseas and works over a certain number of hours, though most people do not bother ( or often even know) the rules.

I sugest you get your insurabce approved while in the US and then get a VPN and a really good tech to.make it hard to prove you are out of the country

Malpractice for psychotherapy? Pretty hard to prove I would think

You are a bigger worrier than soe of the people on this site.
