Rejected!

So, my marriage visa application has been rejected! The reason being that my passport number did not match the marriage certificate. Well, there is a good reason for that. My marriage was over twenty years ago and THAT passport is expired and no longer valid. Luckily I have always retained my old passports and have my passport that is no longer valid along with the enclosed marriage visa.

So off to the scanner and time for round two. I will scan the passport that was in effect at the time of the marriage and the Colombian marriage visa that is enclosed in said passport. and attach it somewhere, maybe with the marriage certificate, and promptly apply again. It will of course cost another $55.00 dollars. However, I have all my previous paperwork saved on my computer's desktop and along with my previous experience and progression through the learning curve have my reapplication filed by tonight or tomorrow morning.

Perhaps this information will help someone else in this process. If I had used an agency they might have known this. Luckily my documents are still inside the ninety day window although they may expire before that second application can be processed and we will get dinged for that as well. But, I now know how to get those documents remotely from the US as well.
