Investment Visa Nightmare

Hello,

I have had a nightmare situation with obtaining an investment Visa (Inversion Visa). We started in July, with a known attorney and it took 2 months for an official document from the Central bank to finally be able to apply officially...on line. By this time, I had to return the end of September for business, with advise it should only be 30 days to get the visa once transferred to Chicago Consulate.

I did all in the consulate web page to request a meeting by email and text, as they suggest.

We received a request on Nov. 17 for a NOTORIZED certificado de tradition which was done on the 20th, uploaded on roughly the 23rd and sent DHL to Chicago on the same day.

Today, there was a mobile consulate in Madison, WI....and I finally was able to sit with a guy who said...well, your document is not uploaded and your application is now cancelled. You have to apply again...thankfully he was a nice gut or I would have become....well...not happy.

So, I have 11 days left on the 180 day allowance, and as it is starting to snow here, it is past time to leave. I believe going to Colombia on Dec 20 and flying to Panama on the 31st keeps me legal, and fly back to bogota on Jan 1...with new stamp and another 180 days and no plans to leave until April.

My main question is if I return earlier....and perhaps over stay 180 days, what could be the penalty or issues? Or is there a way to extend the 180 days, as I would like to return tomorrow!
