I don't know how many current posters were here in Colombia at the time but it was an historical operation where the FARC were completely fooled by Colombian military who wwre sent to acting school to learn to present them selves as Belgian aid workers and who utterly bamboozled the FARC resulting in the rescue of a Colombian presidential candidate and three American contractors who crashed during spraying operations of glisofato. (Why this hasn't been a movie yet since the stupid story of Thomas Hargrove in Cali turned into the movie "Proof of Life" with Russel Crowe and Meg Ryan was done by Holleywood).

And do you remember Mono Joy Joy being taken down, bombed to smithereens, Months of surveillance by Colombia's best, akin to US Navy Seals. Almost spotted at the last minute.

Colombia's Police group "Grupo Jungla". Trained by the US and and of course in "la Jungle" in Colombia. I don't remember the target but it was a FARC who was in an area well protected by locals. A team of three "Jungla" spent three days traveling only at night so they wouldn't be seen by locals and through rough jungle...they got him!

Another "Jungla". There was a capo of an oficino de cobro responsible for many killings in Cali. He went and hid out in a finca in Cauca department and was under the protection of the FARC. Police intelligence found out where he was and three helicopters with Grupo Jungla hovered over the finca. They dropped on ropes and though he tried to run they pushed him into a helicopter that was barely touching ground on one rung on the steep slope. It took them twelve seconds and they were off. Of course the FARC game a runnin' but the three Jungla copters were long gone.

And of course the bombing of Raul Reyes in Ecuador. Uribe told Santos bomb the bejesus out of the sucker and I'll take the international hit.

Now we have groups of a hundred Colombian solders "kidnapped" in a new trick by the ELN by the people of a pueblo directed by the ELN of course ,who need to be rescued!!
