Terror In Jamundí

Has anyone been paying attention to what's going on in Jamundí? The whole area around the city especially to the west is under complete control of the FARC disidencia Jaime Martínez a disidencia with in the larger disidencia of Iván Mordisco. The first reten operated by them is only ten minutes by car from the center of Jamundí. Whats more they are building a full fledged road with stolen heavy machinery to connect Jamundí to the Pacific so that large trucks can move cocaine to the coast. The road is laying waste to a large swath of the Fallarones National Park and is apparently the largest tree cutting operation in Colombia to date.

The people in their villages are not allowed to leave as the guerrilla need them as human shields should the army try to enter. There are kidnappings, forced labor and killings galore. Because of agreements under the plan "Paz Total" the army can't lift a finger.

Observers say the control by the FARC is advancing at a rate of one kilometer a day and if not stopped, all of Jamundí and parts of south Cali will be under the exclusive control of the guerrilla with in a couple of years.
