Here verses there...

In my case here is USA (L.A. or Houston) and there is Colombia (somewhere near but not IN Medellin).

On the political front I have always said that Colombia is just one election away from becoming Cuba or Venezuela; but I never worried too much about it since I really did not have a dog in the race. But now with it being time to play the piano or get off of the stool it has become very real.

With Petro currently trying to change the constitution in order to stay on as president I see the possibility of Colombia sliding into the socialist decay that Venezuela has achieved. On the other hand depending on the election in the USA I could see us hot on the heels of these countries as well.

There is little that I can do other than vote and urge my loved ones to vote; both, here in the USA and Colombia.

Housing; Well the home in California is a third the size on a lot three times the size of the home in Houston. The house in California is worth three times the Houston home; but, the taxes are a tenth. All in all will probably sell the California home and maintain a home in Texas and considering a home in Colombia. But where is Colombia.

The family lives in Medellin mostly. Some in Bogota, Some in Sonson. Some in Manizales. I am of the mind that Medellin is too problematic and expensive compared to some other places.

Maybe Girodota or Copacabana, who knows. Is there any place that is not subject to water and energy rolling outages?
