Moving to Costa Rica

Hi everyone! My name is Amanda and I am 20 years old. I am a sophmore in college and always thought I wanted to go to school, get a good job, and make a lot of money (live "the american dream"). This past December I took a trip to Nosara costa rica and absolutely loved it! I loved the sun (of course), the beautiful land, the amazingly friendly ticos I met, being able to use my 5 years of spanish class, the all around tranquility of the environment. I have been thinking a lot about my life here in America and have started thinking that "the American Dream" isnt all its cracked up to be. Everyone in Costa Rica just was so layed back and not all about making money. Everyone was happy and living up to their Pura Vida way of life. I still talk with some of my tico friends over facebook and they are always making me jealous talking about how much fun they have in their country and how much they love costa rica. With all of this said, my family pretty much thinks I am crazy for wanting to move away and be happy. In their eyes I need to stay in america and finish school and become wealthy before moving. They think I will not enjoy being there after the first couple weeks. I guess overall I am just looking for some advice from others who have made the jump I am thinking about taking. Thank you, Amanda!
