Education / 90 Day Visa / Starting a Business

In my research so far I’ve seen quite a few responses that say going to school in Costa Rica could help you stay there legally. How does that work exactly? Would you have to enroll in some abroad program at a school in the United States, or would it be all done through Costa Rica? Would you have to be a full time student or can you take just a couple of classes? Does being a full time student let you work there legally?

I’ve seen some people say that a lot of expats just leave the country every 3 months and return. Can someone please explain how this works in detail? Some say that they don’t always stamp your passport for 90 days when you return so it's up to them. How are expats working around this? What is the cheapest way and approximately how much does it cost to make this work? Like would be taking a bus out of the country and back every 90 days work? What are your thoughts and solutions for this?

I’d like to start a photography/videography business in Costa Rica but from reading posts on here, it seems it might be a lot of work or maybe not even possible. Has anyone formed that kind of business or know someone who has? If I could show I would hire Costa Rican citizens for the business would it make any difference in getting residency or some legal way to stay in the country? Also I saw in another topic in this forum someone had mentioned working online for income there and that was legal. Could someone please expand on this? So if I was able to just get work off Odesk doing online marketing or editing videos or something like that, that would be legal?
