Kohl,
I want to thank you for all your help! I appreciated all the information that you and a few others gave me about Costa Rica!

Since my husband and I just applied for residence and we also opened our first bank account there, I tried to give that information away to those who could benefit from it!
I never thought that by sharing what my Tica neighbor who lives in Los Angeles told me wen she mentioned that if I was an American they would require more documents,would make me a target!
It's like if they are calling ignorant not just to me but to my neighbor as well since she was the one who used the word "American"!
It's amazing that this person has asked people before not to get away from the subject the are talking about and now she (or he) felt the need to explain what an American is!
Doesn't my Tica neighbr from San Jose who owns a condo in Guanacaste next to me and who lives in Los angeles and who has 2 nationalities know the difference between a person from the United States and someone from America Latina?
Then I thought it was curious that someone also mentioned that not everybody who comes here has the same level of English education, etc,,,etc....
Like if me and my neighbor are ignorant!
I probably have traveled to more countries around the world than most of these people and I have never heard anyone from Nicaragua, Honduras, El Salvador, Brazil, Mexico,
Argentina, etc....claiming to be an American!
If we would call them an American it would be offensive to them because they are very proud of their nationalities!
We interact a lot with locals especially in the jacuzzi and swimming pool (they too rent) and when we ask them where they are from some say: I was born in the States but now I live here.Others say:we are Nicaraguans but we work here!
No one has ever answered: I am an American!
Kohl, even though this is not about documents anymore, I want to let you know that Canadians are also required to register with the Embassy in San Jose.
Someone mentioned here that it was just for the Americans (again, the Americans) but we were told by our lawyer that we need to register as well.
However it's easy because it can be done online!
By the way Khol, I don't plan to write anything else in this blog but |I appreciate you!
Like the old proverb says: the dogs bark but the caravan moves on!
The difference is that I won't be here to listen to their barks!
