Mover Company ALERT

Hello friends,

I recently relocated back to the United States with my daughter after living in Costa Rica for 4 years. I used a mover company call Mudanzas Arpo and wish to share this information only with the interest to prevent anyone from going through the nightmare that my family and I went through. The quote they provided at first ended up being a false promise. The movers came to pack all of our stuff and robbed us of $1500 cash that were hidden on a wallet with our passports. Not only did they ruined our last two days in the country, as we were so afraid that we were not going to be able to flight on the scheduled time. The company conducted an "investigation" that was resolved by telling us their workers are well paid and that there was nothing they could do. Of course our passports were packed on a box as if they were "accidentally" given to them to be packed. 4 weeks and $5000 later we are still waiting for our cargo and are told now that we must pay $300 more to get our stuff delivered to our door. We were sold on the fact that the service was door to door all inclusive in one price. As much as I love this country, my experience is that other than its beaches and occasionally very friendly rural people, Costa Rica suffers the illness of a marginal society with lawless and irresponsible institutions as well as companies that look to squeeze money out of any one they can. Is a shame but is mostly very sad. Do not use Mudanzas Arpo AKA robbers and liars movers !
