here's my wish list: any suggestions?

Hi All, I love this site. I was in CR a long time ago and fell in love with it. After reading many posts, I realize it has changed a lot, but I'm still interested In living there for a year or so. The following is a list of what I would like to have where I live.

I've narrowed down my search to the Central Valley as I don't like humidity and like many of the towns I've read about. Here's the specifics of what I need.

Safety. I'm going down alone and want to enjoy myself, without worry.

high speed internet. I work online and want to be able to be productive. Yes, I know that in CR they are not know for great service so I'm looking for a place that is considered good for CR.

Near San Jose. I want to be no more than an hour away from SJ. The closer the better.

Hot water.

Walking distance to town. I love to walk, but no more than 1/2 hour walk - as long as it's safe.

Local market. I like to cook fresh food. I'm less concerned about number of restaurants.

Furnished apartment. Minimum one bedroom, one bath, but would prefer two bedrooms so that I can have guests come down to visit.

I will need to take buses so an area that has a decent amount of buses running to SJ and other areas in CR.

Any suggestions? So far I'm looking at Grecia, San Ramon, San Rafael, Atenas, Heredia and Arenal. I'm open to exploring other areas, like the Orosi Valley.

My budget for rent and utilities is no more than $1,000. but would prefer, of course, to spend less.

Thanks so much.
