Maternity Leave in Guanacaste

Hello! My situation is slightly different, we are planning to spend 4-6 weeks in Guanacaste this summer (July/ early August) during my maternity leave. My husband will delay his paternity leave to join us. We’ve been to Costa Rica several times and were married on a beach at a private home near Tamarindo 10 years ago. We have older kids (age 5 and 7) and the baby will be 4 months. Ideally I want to pick a house to rent for at least 4 weeks and then spend 1-2 weeks traveling. I’m focused on Guanacaste because of wet season, we surf and my oldest boogie boards, and proximity to Liberia airport and hospital.

I’m struggling to pick the exact location and could use expat tips. I love Nosara and my friends rave about the Nosara Kids Camp which would be nice to keep the big kids entertained but worry it’s a bit too remote with a new infant in case of emergency. Is there a good clinic there? Google has failed me.

Another option is near Tamarindo because of the availability of lots of restaurants, activities and necessities but it’s a bit too touristy. I would like a place we can really feel at home and meet some local expats. We love nature, the beach, and I speak some Spanish but would like to improve. Kids would love to stay in a beach with monkeys since they still talk about them from our last trip.

Any help narrowing down location? Any kids camp drop off activities for my older kids? Any good pediatric clinics in Guanacaste? My pediatrician has approved the trip and just warned about mosquitos.

Last, if anyone knows a specific beach rental that is kid friendly. Ideally 3-4 bedrooms, with pool access and walking to a beach with some gentle waves. We will probably have friends visit during the trip and would also hire a regular housekeeper/babysitter. Thank you!
