Visiting Grecia this Weekend

Hello! I am visiting Grecia this weekend (Oct. 10) as a potential retirement spot. (I'm visiting various areas in CR over the next couple of years, and I'm visiting each during a less than optimal time of year to see if it's something I can live with.) Anyway, I would love to get recommendations for sodas or other places to hang out at in Grecia. I'm not adventuring; I'm dipping my toe into a laid-back retirement lifestyle. I do want to visit the feria -- I need to stock up my Airbnb! Thanks to all of you for making Expat Exchange an open and friendly source of information!

I’m looking forward to seeing it first hand! And enjoying the weather, rain and all. Much better than my sweltering city.

Hi
Dont forget HEREDIA in the gorgeous Hills closer than Grecia and definitely prettir..People have a way of playing follow the leader where ever there are Gringos.I lived all over CR and settled in what I think it THE BEST AREA and VIEWS ...Climate Springlike year round and LOL at Linda OUR city of Heredia is also VERY CLEAN and so are many others ..But the hills where I live just N of San Rafael de Heredia is Heaven...As for driving SO VERY FAR from Grecia if you have an accident and need GOOD MODERN Hospitals they are ALL Nearby here in the Central Vally.Lush Green and quiet and safe....If you are paying Air BnB prices you may take a look at my place which nightlyI charge more but many talk me into renting long term in including electricity, water, TrashPick up and HIGH SPEED WIFI...doubt if Grecia has this wifi Quality... it is getting over crowded with tourists now,,Here yucan WALK to the Feerias..and have a nice chat as yu gatFAR Cheaper goods than in Gringo areas..
I rent a 2 bedroom furnished Chalet and 2 cozy apartments all for under $600 mnthly including Utilities..More for nightly on Bookings .com.... Google "El Tranquilo Lodge and Apartments" Heredia on Google..I am countryside on charming 3 acre farm electric gate and yet the bus stop at the gate will take you to Heredia in 20 minutes and to villages in Beween in 5 minutes ..IF interested in at least seeing my area dont anser here I am hardly ever lurking here looking for BIZ,,,EMAIL or Call
Good Luck when my BnB was in full swing for many years ,before I hurtmy back I used to take people to Sarrchi and Gracia ..the only thing to see there was the Metal Church brought over from Belgium in case of earthquakes..I am amazed no oone mentioned this the only Thing to see realiy for me and them BORING ...but maybe ok for you...come see here you will be shocked at the beauty JUST ourside of Heredia Spring like climate Year round 70 *0 deg F>Center..then Hils are AWESOME with city lights glowing etc,,mountain ranges and CLOSE to CAFES AND Large supermarkets.. and Hospitals...You have to see for your self (With guidance at no charge,,Where it the BnB ?

I would have loved to meet you but my husband is very sick and can't right now. I personally love Grecia very much. You couldn't pry me out of here. The people are awesome. At least the ones I know. I know more Ticos than Expats.

Pebbs - I will send you an email as soon as I can.
