Looking for a nanny/mother's help position in London with flexible hours

Hello,

I am a 22-year-old Finnish student and I am moving to London in September to spend a year preparing for UK medical school entrance. I am fully bilingual, I have attended international schools for most of my life, and have lived both in Finland and in the United States (2002-2004).

I am looking for a job as a weekend nanny/mother's help in central or west London, starting in late August or early September. If the position was live-in, I would also consider a combination of early morning (->8.30am), late afternoon (4.30pm ->), and evening hours during the week, with or without weekend hours. Holiday work is also possible. The general area of Kensington and Chelsea would be ideal as it would be close to my college.

I have previously worked as a substitute teacher, tutor, mother's help, temporary nanny, camp instructor, and children's ministry coordinator. I have done sole-charge care, can cook healthy meals, and I am first aid certified by the Finnish Red Cross. As a non-driver I am happy to walk, use public transport, or ride my bike. Unfortunately the family cannot have indoor pets as I am allergic to animals.

I find working with children rewarding, and have a positive can-do attitude coupled with a mixture of responsibility and fun. I enjoy playing sports to keep fit (soccer, tennis, swimming, bicycling, winter sports, hiking) and I have a history of Christian scouting and wilderness training. Music practice supervision will not be a problem, as I play the piano myself.

I can provide excellent, checkable letters of recommendation from previous employers and families I have worked for. If you are interested (or know anyone who might be), please send me a message and I will get back to you. I would love to hear from you!

Sincerely,

Ilinda Manelius
