"Life for retirees in Grecia and its surroundings is very pleasant and peaceful. The local community is warm and inviting and the expat community is quite active, providing plenty of opportunities to interact and get to know the locals. There is always something to do in town, whether its yoga classes, shopping at the markets, or exploring the nearby attractions. Cultural attractions in the area include the Palmares Church, one of the oldest and most respected churches in the region. There is also the beautiful golden dome at Grecia City Hall and the ancient ruins of San Isidro de Coronado. Visitors can also explore the local rainforest as well as partake in horseback riding, whitewater rafting, or zip-lining. There is nightlife to enjoy as well, with various restaurants, pubs, and night clubs throughout the area," said a person in Grecia.

"Because of the language barrier, and no transportation, I'm limited to what I can do with my friend who is American, lives here, and has a car. My community where I live has a clubhouse with gym, pool, and restaurant 4 days a week and plenty of area to walk and ride a bike (if I owned one)," remarked one retiree in Grecia.
