"The cost of living in Sokcho is considered moderate compared to other cities in South Korea. Rent for a one-bedroom apartment in the city center can be quite affordable, while outside the city center, it can be even cheaper. The cost of utilities such as electricity, heating, cooling, and water is also relatively low. Groceries in Sokcho are reasonably priced, with local markets offering fresh produce at lower costs. Dining out in Sokcho can range from inexpensive meals at local eateries to more costly options at high-end restaurants. Public transportation in Sokcho is also quite affordable, with buses being the primary mode of transport. Taxis are also available and are reasonably priced. Healthcare in Sokcho is of a high standard and is relatively inexpensive, especially when compared to countries like the United States. Overall, while Sokcho is not the cheapest city in South Korea, it offers a good quality of life at a moderate cost," said one expat in Sokcho.
