"The cost of living in Puerto Cayo is considered to be relatively low compared to many other countries. Rent for a one-bedroom apartment in the city center can be quite affordable. The cost of utilities such as electricity, heating, cooling, water, and garbage is also quite low. Groceries are also inexpensive, with local markets offering fresh produce, meat, and seafood at reasonable prices. Eating out at restaurants is also affordable, with a meal at an inexpensive restaurant costing significantly less than in many Western countries. Transportation costs are also low, with affordable public transportation options and low-cost gasoline for those who own cars. Healthcare is also reasonably priced, with both public and private healthcare options available at a fraction of the cost compared to countries like the United States. However, it's important to note that while the cost of living is low, wages in Ecuador are also significantly lower than in many Western countries. Therefore, the affordability of living in Puerto Cayo may depend on one's income or savings," remarked another expat who made the move to Puerto Cayo, Ecuador.
