English cinemas in Barcelona

Whether you are in Barcelona on holiday and are dying to see the latest blockbuster film, or simply if you live in Barcelona and consider yourself a movie boffin, it can be quite hard to find a cinema that shows films in their original version (in other words not dubbed into Spanish). Even if you speak fluent Spanish, a lot of the film is often lost in translation.
Pretty much all of the cinemas in the major centers in Barcelona only project films in the Spanish dubbed version, but there are a few hidden gems where you can see films the way they were intended.
YELMO CINES ICARIA is one of them, located on Salvador Espriú, 61 (near Mapfre building). It is based in a small shopping complex, where you can find some good restaurants to enjoy dinner after your movie.
CINE VERDI on Calle Verdi 32 in Gracia is another great option, where they have a discount on Mondays and tickets cost only 6 Euros.
FILMOTECA CATALUNYA on Plaça de Salvador Seguí, 1-9 shows older films in their original version, and tickets cost only 4 Euros, and 3 Euros for retired people and students.
Other than that, the IMAX theater in Port Vell is another option, where they sometimes project films in original English version.
