Parent's Review of Renaissance International School Saigon in Ho Chi Minh City , Vietnam

What is the name of your child's school? (Please report on one school per survey.)

Renaissance International School Saigon

In what town or city is this school located?

Ho Chi Minh City

How would you describe this school? (i.e. American, British, International, Local, etc.)

British International/Korean

What grade levels are represented at this school?

K-12

How do most children get to school everyday? (bus, train, walk, etc.)

Bus and motorbike

How would you describe the facilities at this school? What extra-curricular activities are available?

Dated, Dangerous, clean. Looks can be deceiving.

What has this school done to help your child transition from the curriculum in your home country into the curriculum in your new country? Are there programs to prepare your child for repatriation?

The curriculum is based on the England National Curriculum and the IPC. Making money is all this school seems concerned about. I took my child out and put them in ABC (a much better alternative in D7). There have been some lovely teachers here in the past but all have left. Some teachers and SLT are archaic. Western kids do not thrive in this school. They are introvert, quiet and developmental far behind their peers.

How would you describe the social activities available for parents through this school? Are there parent-teacher organizations?

There is a 3 way split here 1. Vietnamese parents 2. Korean Parents 3. Others (mainly teachers) They do not intergrate well.

What advice would you give to someone considering enrolling their child in this school?

If I knew what I knew now I would never of put my child here. Many of the reviews you will read on here are close acquaintances of the current HOS. If the head of HR takes her child out of the school to go to another international school...You have to ask why?
