Paying Annual Property Taxes

We bought a property in Belize a couple of years ago and have a question about paying property taxes from abroad. Last year, we paid a service to pay our property taxes for us. The fee we paid for the service was far more than the taxes owed, so this year we are looking for an alternative.

I am hoping that someone here lives in the US and pays property taxes in BZ and can point us in the right direction.

From what I understand, we would need to contact the offices of the Tax Ministry in Belmopan and , get current updated amount of Property Taxes owed. Would this be the correct contact information for doing that?

Also, how do we get the payment to them? We do not currently have a BZ bank account set up, but are planning on doing that this year when we visit. Can we just mail them a check or money order? Is wire transfer the preferred method? Are there any issues (or concerns) of the payment being applied properly once they receive it?

Or, would it be best to pay for the service again this year and have them pay the taxes directly for us?
