Considering moving family of 4 to Belize

Hi everyone.

My wife and I are Americans who despise the corporate job lifestyle, generic consumerism, and general malaise and unhappiness that comes with living here (in Kansas). We've both traveled a lot, and lived in multiple places ranging from Hawaii to California to Austin to Kansas City.

We recently went on a cruise to Belize and frankly fell in love. Fell so in love we are considering expatriating and moving there with our 2 children.

We seek warmer climates, a slower lifestyle that doesn't revolve around materialism and stressing out over time.

We eat organic/healthy foods only, and are perfectly open to eating only fruits, veggies, chicken, rice and beans. We have no real attachment to processed foods.

We dislike the hyperconnected world, compulsive texting, social media etc. And just want to enjoy our family in a beautiful paradise.

We have a 3 year old son and a 10 month old daughter. We are aware that this would be a huge experience for them, we are aware that education isn't great in Belize (both of us are fully capable of home schooling).

We have no medical conditions and take great care of ourselves.

Any and all advice would be appreciated. We plan on taking a longer trip there in April 2017 to look around Belize at potential places to live. And definitely renting a place before buying.

In terms of income, I make a great living off of YouTube/iTunes, which doesn't require me to be in America. It's very likely that this income will last for many years to come, and the job is something I can do from Belize.

My wife will either try to telecommute or stay there long enough to become a citizen so she can get work. Or just be a housewife who homeschools the kids.

I would love your thoughts, opinions, concerns, pointers, tips, etc. Thanks in advance for all responses.
