English is widely spoken in Singapore, but it can be beneficial to learn some basic phrases in Mandarin or Malay. The climate is tropical, meaning it's hot and humid year-round, with frequent rain showers. Singapore has strict laws and regulations, including penalties for littering, jaywalking, and chewing gum in public places. It's important to familiarize yourself with these rules to avoid fines or other penalties. Healthcare in Singapore is of a high standard, but it can be expensive. It's recommended to have comprehensive health insurance. The food scene in Orchard Road is diverse, with a mix of high-end restaurants and affordable hawker centres. Lastly, Singapore's education system is one of the best in the world.
