Is the cost of living in Annecy high?

We asked people how much they someone comfortably live on in Annecy, they wrote:

"The cost of living in Annecy, is relatively high compared to other French cities, but still more affordable than Paris. Housing costs, including rent and utilities, are a significant expense, with prices varying depending on the size and location of the property. Transportation costs, such as public transit and fuel, are also notable expenses, although they are generally in line with the national average. Groceries and food prices in Annecy can be slightly higher than in other parts of France, but there are still affordable options available at local markets and discount supermarkets. Dining out at restaurants can be pricey, especially in the touristy areas, but there are also budget-friendly options available. Healthcare costs in Annecy are generally reasonable, as France has a comprehensive public healthcare system that covers most expenses. However, private insurance and out-of-pocket expenses can add up for those without coverage. Education costs in Annecy can vary, with public schools being free for residents, while private and international schools can be quite expensive. Childcare costs are also a consideration for families with young children. Overall, the cost of living in Annecy is higher than in many other French cities, but it offers a high quality of life, beautiful surroundings, and a range of amenities that may justify the expense for some people," said one expat in Annecy.
