Will I save money living in Ghent?

Answer this Question

We asked expats if they save money living in Ghent. They said...

"The cost of living in Ghent can be lower than in many cities in the United States, especially when it comes to healthcare and education. However, this can vary greatly depending on your lifestyle and spending habits. Rent and groceries can be cheaper in Ghent, but dining out and general consumer goods may be more expensive. Taxes are also higher in Belgium, but they fund a range of social services. So, while you might save money on some aspects of living, others might be more expensive. It's also important to consider the exchange rate and your income level. Overall, whether or not you save money will depend on your personal circumstances," remarked another expat who made the move to Ghent, Belgium.
