When we asked what advice they have for others considering retiring abroad, they advised...
"Look into the cost of living in the country you are considering and make sure that it is within your budget. Research the healthcare options in the country you are considering and determine if the quality and affordability meets your needs. Make sure to look into the visa regulations for foreigners and find out what kind of taxes may be applicable to you. Consider the accessibility of the local culture and social life, as well as the climate and environment. Ensure that you are comfortable with the type of transportation available in the country and whether it is at a level that suits your preferences. Finally, make sure to do some research on expat groups and online forums to get a feel for the experiences of other retirees living in the country you are considering," wrote a member who made the move to Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
