Are common prescription medications available in Da Nang?
When we asked expats in Da Nang if common prescription medications are available in Da Nang, they wrote...
"Common prescription medications are generally available in Da Nang. You can find them in local pharmacies, also known as "nhà thu?c," which are widely spread throughout the city. These pharmacies stock a variety of medications, including antibiotics, pain relievers, and medications for chronic conditions. However, it is essential to note that the availability of specific medications may vary, and some Western brands may not be available or may have different names. It is recommended to bring a copy of your prescription and consult with a local pharmacist to ensure you receive the correct medication. Additionally, it is a good idea to carry a sufficient supply of your prescription medications when traveling to Da Nang, as the quality and availability of medications may not be consistent with what you are used to in your home country," explained one expat living in Da Nang, Vietnam.

"Medicine is available over the counter. I have a good pharmacy I go to but, you need to ask around about pharmacy's because, not all medicine is real or unexpired. I have for example, purchased ibuprofen that simply did not work," said another expat in Da Nang, Vietnam.
