What has this school done to help your child transition from the curriculum in your home
country into the curriculum in your new country? Are there programs to prepare your child for repatriation?
We are British expats and my daughter was born in Dubai, UAE, so no transistion from home country. Not sure if there are programs for repatriation as the situation hasn't arised yet.
How would you describe the social activities available for parents through this school? Are there parent-teacher organizations?
There is a PTA which all parents are invited to once a month.
As an International School in a Muslim country with a vaste array of children/parents from various different locations/religions I should imagine it's very difficult to organise social activities that would be participated in, in any great number. However, there have been Fetes at the School, School productions, sports days which all parents/friends are invited along to, coupled with an International Buffet organised for this April.
What advice would you give to someone considering enrolling their child in this school?
As a happy parent of a happy child who will be commencing her 3rd year at VES in September, in my opinion there is really little advice that one parent can give to another regarding the schooling of that person's child.
It depends on the individual requirements of the parent whether each or any particular school ticks all the right boxes to ultimately make the right decision as to where to place your child.
To ensure this, if you obtain an interview or attend an open day, don't be afraid to ask questions, the staff are open, honest, friendly and professional.
