Playa Blanca

I would like to begin by stating that I usually would never consider writing an article such as what follows but I feel strongly that all expats coming to Panama should be aware of developments that simply put are bad.
I have now had the unfortunate experience of living in Playa Blanca noted for its huge swimming pool.Apart from that there is not much else good to state about this development.
The water is not fit to drink and we have had it tested and it is full of all types of bacteria. They as I have just found out dump all the septic waste into the nice river that of course flows directly into the ocean right in front of the resort. My wife has actually while walking our dogs found everything from diapers to ..well I will leave that to your imagination. The power is constantly off and has destroyed several appliances in our house, wild dogs run free in packs and tear open the garbage waiting to be picked up which is then trucked and dumped in the property adjacent to the resort. They like to claim they have good security but condos even on the higher floors are broken into.I had four new tires in my carport I had bought to put on my suv and yes the next morning they were gone. The owner/developer has so many law suits against him now ...well in the hundreds and just recently a retired professional from Canada showed up to move into his new condo only to find out that the "package" he had paid for in advance for his condo did not include light fixtures, sinks and electrical sockets in the walls.
This developer by the name of Sam Swartz is a crook and has gone as far as to have the power and water cut off to a number of buildings all lived in because the owners refuse to pay their monthly fees due to the fact the developer does nothing for them. The sorted tale could go on and on but basically I just want it out there to stay as far away from this sorted mess as possible. The developer rents out suites in some of the condo buildings on weekends but never of course asks how many people will be staying and at one point one unit had 18 adults partying in it all weekend but nothing was done.My humble advice is stay away from this place and tell your friends not to even consider staying here for a short time.Double water filters plug solid in no time with mold and algae.
It should be renamed ecological disaster.
And people let their children play on this beach everyday.
Even the wild dogs do not go or eat on this beach!
