Do you wish to live in Panama but only have Social Security?

If you like me and have limited income, but wish to live in Panama you can. But, your options are limited. And, you need to be a Little Hardy to get started. I am assuming you are single and have an income of 1200 dollars or more. And hopefully some savings. You could rent a room with a family but that is hard for most retiree's. No privacy etc. You would need to live in the interior in a city like or similar to Las Tablas or possibly Chitre. You would need to find an unfurnished house and then furnish it a Little at a time. Houses in the 200 dollar range unfurnished are quite posible and doable. I have met people that rented a house and had nothing more tan a bed and some plastic chairs. After 6 months or so they have most of what they want or need. Most Little towns have good bus service etc and Little grocery stores within walking distance of whatever home you rent. This strategy is not for everyone but I can tell you this much. You can live better in Panama on a social security check than you could ever live on the same check in the US. It is worth it in my view.
